The Grid Concept Showings and Creative Development

The Grid shared their ambitious vision for a permanent immersive digital art space with around 120 Wellingtonians as part of a creative development session hosted by Te Auaha in late April. Bringing data to life the team showcased two mesermising works in development from renowned photographer and digital artist Joseph Michael and The Grid co-founder Delainy Jamahl.

Global arts advisor, curator, and photojournalist Helen Klisser During sat in on a concept showing, hear what they had to say in The ArtCafé Blog.

A big thank you to our friends at Te Auaha, Streamliner Productions, and YooCrew, for their generous support of this project.

EARLIER 2021

The Grid is born.

After years of conversation and inspiration The Grid co-Founders Shannon Brosnahan Inglis and Delainy Kennedy commit to making a dedicated home for digital art in Aotearoa a reality. After taking part in the Ministry for Culture and Heritage’s first online Te Urungi Innovation Fund event from Berlin and then pitching the concept from opposite sides of the world, The Grid was granted seed funding. Work developing The Grid was well underway.
